This is my 4th poetry collection to a project meant to break down internal walls and vocalize a lot of frustrations. This was started around a year ago, but I put it off, because I was not ready to let go and try to heal.

My father, David Wayne Dixon, passed on the January 25, 2016. I climbed a mountain of emotions. I struggled to accept that the hatred that I had amassed for him was both useless as a whole and no longer an effective reason to keep living my life with bitterness and anger.

Furthermore I write this for, as I do all other poetry collections, to inspire kids and my peers to find their voices. To be loud and to never let their fire be snuffed out by people that refuse to understand them. I write this for them and for my love of art.

RIP dad, I love and will always miss you. I hope you found the peace you always searched for.

Inspirations for Vishuddha: Quasi-Sonic Scream:

Germaine "Canibus" Williams: As always my first and still biggest poetic influence. His "C of Tranquility" track was my first exposure to how far you can truly take expression.

Tsidi "Jean Grae" Ibrahim's "GOTHAM DOWN: cycle II: LEVIATHAN" project is a massive influence. I credit her as the inspiration as the reason for further fleshing out this mercenary persona/avatar in this poetry collection. Specifically exploring the space of what the mercenary's "work" is, navigating the dialectics of being professional, and the savage "fulfillment" of the work.

Dr. Yen Lo is a emcee-producer duo created for the "Days with Dr. Yen Lo" album. An album that talk that consists of Kaseem "Ka" Ryan and Jean "Preservation" Daval. It's both reminiscence of what it took for Ka to get to where he's currently at in life. While he's happy to be out of that environment. It's not possible to entirely divorce yourself from those experiences.
